At Aether Academy our goal is to make our facility ADA compliant for people with disabilities. It is our intention to also provide accessible classes for those with any learning, developmental, cognitive &/or physical disabilities.

Refund Policy

At Aether Academy we are very understanding of life's circumstances. You are welcome to get a refund if you've paid for a class or package but will not be able to attend, or get it credited towards another class option. You are also welcome to a make-up class. 

Once class has been attended, we do not offer a refund!

Parent Observation Policy

The observation of classes is permitted and welcomed at the front "waiting area" of our dance studio. We ask that parent-child interactions happens in the waiting area of the dance studio if and when needed, to make sure we do not distract the other students and teacher/s. This allows our parents to watch their child's progression while siblings are welcomed to wait before or after their class. As a family-owned business, we like to support our students and their families to the best of our capabilities, making everyone feel welcomed, supported and included.  

Student Etiquette

RESPECT: We do not inflict any long rules that could potential create pressure or opportunity for rebellion, but we do believe in the main principle of respect. This is for each student and teacher, towards themselves and each other.

TARDINESS: We understand that life circumstances may effect arrival time, but we strongly encourage arrival of 5 minutes before start of class to have enough time to change shoes and place personal items in our caddies. 

​

ATTENDANCE: Consistent attendance is crucial for personal progression and company team work. This is a form of personal discipline, and commitment. We encourage all our students to attend at least once a week for consistent practice and improvement. 

Dress Code Policy

At Aether Academy we value safety of every student and of our environment. Here are some things we suggest you or your child omit or remove before joining a class;

  • bracelets and necklaces. Safe ear piercings are allowed.

  • outdoor shoes. Please wear appropriate dance shoes for our dance classes (only worn on the dance floor & not outside)

 

Appropriate Dance Shoes for each class;

- Classical Ballet; ballet shoes & pointe shoes (for more advanced students)

- Acro & Aerial; barefoot 

- Modern Jazz; jazz shoes or jazz trainers

- Tap Dancing; tap shoes

- Ballroom; ballroom shoes

- Lyrical & Contemporary Dance; barefoot or half sole shoes

- Performing Arts & Musical Theater; jazz shoes, jazz trainers or character shoes

- Hip Hop & Breakdance; dance trainers

- Yoga; barefoot

- Pilates; barefoot or non-slip/pilates socks 

- Barre; barefoot or non-slip/barre socks

- Heels Class; ankle-supported high heels

 

Classical Ballet Attire per age group;

Female Attire - Classical Ballet (leotards)

  • 2.5-4 years; PINK

  • 5-7 years; LIGHT BLUE

  • 8-10 years; LILAC

  • 11-13 years; BURGANDY

  • 14+ years; BLACK

Male Attire - Classical Ballet

  • black tights or leggings and white shirt for all age groups

​

For Classical ballet students 2.5-11 years wear pink tights. Students 11+ are welcome to choose either pink or black tights.

Students are also welcome to wear ballet skirts if they wish. Please pull back hair in a tight and neat bun.

Female Attire - All Other Classes

  • Aether Academy tank or crop top, or t-shirt

  • Black shorts/leggings/pants/skirt

​

Male Attire - All Other Classes

  • Aether Academy t-shirt

  • Black shorts/leggings/pants

​

All Classes: long hair must be pulled away from the face and off the neck for all dance classes. 

Please omit from wearing any pants that drag along the floor for your safety. 

Avoid jewelry and too many hair accessories.

What should be worn to a class?

Our dress code ensures that students receive the best possible instruction, minimize injury, increase focus and develop strong sense of self-confidence and an essence of studio unity. Appropriate dance shoes are required for each dance class. We provide our very own studio attire for purchase at our studio and on our online store. Please check our Dress Code Policy above.
